Texas Concealed Handgun License (CHL) Course
The Dallas Pistol Club now offers a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) certified course that is required for those who wish to apply for a Concealed Handgun License.
The course is comprised of approximately 8 to 9 hours of classroom instruction and up to 2 hours for the live-fire qualification on the DPC range to demonstrate handgun proficiency by the student. The complete course is 10 to 11 hours. You will need to bring a functioning firearm and a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition.
Note: This course assumes you have a basic working knowledge of the handgun you will be using for the live-fire qualification. At a minimum, students should know how to load the firearm and operate it safely.

Please understand that completion of this CHL course does not guarantee you a concealed handgun license. This course fulfills the DPS requirements for you to apply for a license. Once you apply, a State and FBI background check will be conducted to determine your eligibility to carry. Once approved your concealed handgun license will be sent to you by the DPS.
Bring your firearm in a case. Do not bring it into the classroom; leave it secured in your vehicle until told to retrieve it. A firearm will not be needed until we go to the firing range. You will not need a holster.
